Taste the Irresistible Bubblicious Sundae at Treatz Reading

The Treatz Dessert Parlour certainly lives up its name with the variety of delicious treats they serve here. Their selection of hand- made desserts, and luxury seating areas help to create an unforgettable experience. Perfect for birthday parties, or meeting up with friends… Some of the desserts here include of scoop of their high- quality Italian gelato ice cream in a cone, and freshly baked waffles. Or if you’re looking for a real treat, there’s the notorious Freakshake!

Treatz have franchises across the UK, both in major cities such as London and Birmingham, and smaller towns including Luton and Slough. You can also order using their takeaway service on Just Eat, which is perfect for functions and parties. Me and my friend went to the one in Reading, choosing it over Creams because of the positive reviews we heard. I wouldn’t mind also going to Creams as well, so I can compare the two.

Review of the Treatz Bubblicious Sundae

We were both looking for something light, so we chose the sundaes. As we both love bubble-gum ice cream, we decided to order the Bubblicious Sundae (£8.99) so we could taste both flavours served here (Blue Bubblegum and Pink Bubblegum).  I was really impressed with the waiting time too, as we didn’t have to wait for long. After they were prepared behind the counter, two colourful Bubblicious Sundaes came presented to us in glasses…

This sundae was made up of three scoops of gelato- Blue Bubblegum, Pink Bubblegum, and Vanilla. To add flavour, it was drizzled with bubble-gum flavoured syrup which diffused through it. At the bottom in a pool of blue syrup, there was surprise- a small piece of bubble-gum. Finally, there was a Treatz wafer and sprinkles on top for the finishing touch.  So, it’s definitely a 11 out of 10 from me in terms of presentation!

As you can imagine, the sundae tasted as good as it looked. The gelato was excellent quality, and it was nice and light. It didn’t melt easily, so I could taste each flavour of ice cream properly, without them mixing. Lastly, the syrup wasn’t overly sweet either, which was great as it didn’t make it sickly. So, in terms of taste, it’s an 11 out of 10 from me as well!

The menu has a variety of other tasty desserts too

As the name suggests, there is a vast selection of treats to be had here- just check out their menu! Like with many other restaurants I’ve been to, the decision of what to order is a tricky one. And Treatz is no exception, even if you’re just going to buy a scoop of ice cream. The selection of different ice cream flavours on the counter makes it tempting to try them all at once! So, if you’re a regular at Treatz, then it’s a good idea to note down which flavours you’ve had so you can try them all. All the gelato is vegetarian here. Plus, there are a few vegan sorbets too.

Other treats here include freshly baked crepes and waffles, with a scoop of gelato and chocolate. Or there’s hot cookies, and freshly baked cookie crumble. Drinks here include a selection of coffees and milkshakes, including the Freakshake. For those who don’t know what a Freakshake is, this is milkshake in a large glass, with a piece of cake and biscuits on top. One of the waiters here told me customers rarely finish it. It does look quite sickly too if I’m honest.

Verdict

Overall, the Bubblicious Sundae exceeded my expectations, so I rate it 11 out of 10. I had a great experience at Treatz in Reading and would strongly recommend coming here. The staff here were really friendly, and offered a fantastic service.
