Trekking to the Nike Factory in Taplow

Trekking to the Nike Factory in Taplow

For those who don’t know where Taplow is, it is a small town situated between Burnham and Maidenhead. To be honest though, there isn’t a lot to do here. But, if you happen to find yourself near Taplow, it’s definitely worth paying a visit to the new Nike Factory. Nike enthusiasts can find shoes and clothes at discounted prices. Sometimes even up to 30% off or more…

After seeing a giant advert for the new outlet at Maidenhead Station, we knew we had to check it out! But instead of getting Crossrail which would’ve been less than 10 minutes by TFL Rail, we decided to walk from Maidenhead thinking it would be a 20 minute walk. But what we thought was a 20- minute walk, was in reality 40 minutes… In my opinion, it wasn’t really worth the long walk, but it was nice to see some of the sights such as the River Thames by Maidenhead Bridge.

What can you find in the Nike Factory?

  • Sportswear
  • Casual wear
  • Football gear including football boots
  • Shoes!

While you won’t find last season’s 97s or Air Force 1s here, there is still a great selection of shoes to choose from. We mainly saw different variations of Nike Air 2090s here, as well as Air 90s and even a pair of 95’s. While many of the shoes are not that great, there may just be one hidden gem such as the 95’s I found. But if you’re looking for the latest pair of 97s or Air Force 1s, then you’d be better off going to JD Sports or Footlocker…

What time is the Nike Factory open until?

  • Weekdays 10am – 8pm
  • Saturday 9am – 7pm
  • Sunday 11am – 5pm

Location of the Nike Factory

From Maidenhead and Burnham stations, the journey is less than 5 minutes by TFL Rail. Then from Taplow Station, the outlet is a 5- minute walk away towards the Bishop Centre, along Bath Road. As well as getting the train, you can also drive as there is massive car park here.

  1. There’s a shortcut from Taplow Railway Station (2 minute walk): From the station footbridge at Taplow, follow the signs for the Bath Road exit, then take a left turn from the station. At the end of the station car park road you will see a used car dealership on your left, and on your right is a cream coloured footpath next to the Bishops Centre’s delivery road for goods lorries. This path leads straight into the western end of the retail park.
